Open Lens
Photography, phone video and sound. For young adults from 18.
Open Lens takes place where people already are, in public libraries, schools and community kitchens in Neukölln, Kreuzberg and Wedding. A session lasts about three hours. You work with your own phone, we bring microphones, lights and a few cameras.
It is not about technique but about your own story. How do you start when you have many thoughts and no story yet. What do you leave out. How do you tell something about yourself without giving everything away. The recordings become short films that we show in public at the end of a series.

Studio Belziger
Film, fashion and design. For young adults from 18.
Studio Belziger runs in our rooms on Belziger Straße in Schöneberg and in the Kitchen Hub of Über den Tellerrand a few streets away. There are sewing machines, cutting tables and a computer for editing.
Existing material becomes something of your own. Fabric scraps, used clothing, paper, found objects. The question asked most often is how to make something of your own rather than a copy. That is what we work on. At the end of a series there is a finished piece and an evening on which it is shown, in our rooms or in the Kitchen Hub.

Who comes
Since March 2026, more than 80 young adults between 18 and 30 have taken part. The group is mixed, and that is on purpose. What most of them share is not an origin but a situation. Many have no qualification, many work irregularly or not at all, for some German is not their first language, some have children or care for someone.
That is why the workshops are free, run in the afternoons and evenings and take place in venues you can reach without registering. Anyone who has been once is on our list and hears about the next date.
What does not happen
There are no certificates and no exams. Nobody is sent by an employer, nobody pays. We do not train for a trade. We work on someone making something, finishing it and showing it. What comes after that is the question we are working on ourselves.
